The Blessings of Abraham: the Jewish People in God's Plan

The story is told that King Frederick the Great of Prussia once asked his physician to give him proof for the existence of God. His physician replied, “Your Majesty, the continued existence of the Jews.” The Jewish people are the most persecuted people in history. Yet still the Jewish people miraculously survive. The Jewish people remain a paradox of human history.  God promised blessing to Abraham, and to the multitude of his descendants. He also promised that Abraham's progeny would be a blessing to the entire world. Have the Jewish people been blessed, and have they been a blessing? Some would argue the opposite, in light of history and world affairs. This message explores this idea of blessing and the plight of the Jewish people in history and modern times, revealing God's plan and intention for them in his work of redemption throughout history, and their unique role in things yet to come.
